About the Role: Choate Engineering Performance LLC is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Shop Floor
Assistant/Compression Tester to join their team in Bolivar, TN. This is a hands-on opportunity to work in a dynamic performance engineering environment where precision and quality matter. Responsibilities:- Perform compression testing on engines to assess performance and identify mechanical issues
- Assist shop floor technicians with daily operations and engine build processes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on the shop floor
- Handle and organize engine components, parts, and tools with care and accuracy
- Document and record compression test results and report findings to senior technicians
- Support quality control inspections throughout the production or rebuild process
- Operate and maintain shop equipment and testing tools in accordance with safety standards
Requirements:- Basic mechanical knowledge or hands-on experience in an automotive or engine shop setting
- Familiarity with compression testing procedures and diagnostic equipment is a plus
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work accurately in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy components, and work in a shop environment
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic
- High school diploma or GED preferred; technical or vocational training is a bonus
