Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer I

Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company

Duration: 1 Year (Possibility of Extension)

Location: Davenport, IA 52809

Shift: 1st Shift, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (5–8 Hours of Overtime if Requested)

Description:

Job Summary

• Support the Loader Cabs Assembly Line through manufacturing engineering activities focused on improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Optimize assembly processes, provide hands-on production support, and execute continuous improvement and capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and improve assembly layouts, labor standards, work methods, and manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot assembly line issues and implement improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and ergonomics.
• Support tooling, tool design, preventive maintenance, material flow, cycle balancing, and visual management.
• Lead small to moderate capital projects and assist with equipment justification and facility improvements.
• Collaborate with operators, engineers, suppliers, and contractors to resolve issues and implement process changes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1+ year of experience in manufacturing or an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, tooling, preventive maintenance, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• Proficiency in CAD and engineering software, such as AutoCAD or Creo, and understanding of Design for Manufacturing principles.
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and project execution skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.

• Experience driving cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvements, with strong ownership, accountability, and follow-through.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering; Engineering Technology; or a related discipline, or equivalent related work experience.
