Material Handler Bedding - 1st Shift

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Material Handler on our 1st shift team. This position is located at our manufacturing plant in Temple, Tx. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence.

Join our team as a Material Handler in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will safely and efficiently manufacture products to hit daily goals and meet customer specifications. This role requires excellent daily communication with coworkers and management to keep operations running smoothly.

Position Description:

• Assemble mattresses according to specific type and configuration styles.
• Lift 35 to 90 lbs of foam or mattresses.
• Stand comfortably for the duration of the entire work shift.
• Read a tape measure accurately to ensure precise product sizing.
• Maintain quality standards exactly as prescribed by management.
• Manage waste by picking up trash and discarding defective products.

• Read, write, and speak English to fully understand the labeling process.

• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management.

Skills / Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong communication skills to read, write, and completely understand English instructions and labeling processes.
• Measurement proficiency to accurately read and interpret a basic tape measure.

• Must be able to read and completely understand the labeling process and read/write English.

• Must be able to shift and/or lift foam or mattresses & boxes that weigh between 40 to 95 lbs each!

• Keep work areas neat, orderly, and safe at all times.
