Project Assistant - Building Automation Systems/Controls

We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Project Assistant to support Building Automation Systems (BAS) projects in both the field and office.

This role combines field support on construction sites with project coordination and documentation responsibilities in the office. The position works closely with project managers, technicians, and installers to help ensure construction projects are organized, properly documented, and progressing according to plan.

This position is ideal for someone who is technically curious, organized, and interested in learning how modern building automation systems are installed and commissioned in buildings. Extensive training and mentorship will be provided to help the successful candidate develop the technical and project skills required for the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on construction job sites assisting with Building Automation System installations.
• Support technicians during system startup, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Assist with complex installation tasks when needed.
• Help guide installers using construction project drawings and documentation.
• Observe and learn to evaluate how air conditioning systems operate with automation controls.
• Collect field information, photos, and measurements for project documentation. Organize project files, documentation, and reports.
• Assist project managers with project tracking and coordination with other persons related to the project inside and outside the company.
• Update project records.
• Help prepare reports and documentation based on field information.
• Maintain accurate records of project progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus additional education such as college coursework, associate degree, or technical training. Education or experience in Construction Project Management is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Comfortable using computers and basic software (Excel, Word, email).
• Interest in technical systems, air conditioning, or building automation.
• Ability to work regularly on construction sites and in the field.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Have a vehicle is required.
