Pay Rate: ~$20-$25
Day to Day
Supporting a primary care clinic with hands-on patient care, including:
- Rooming patients & taking vitals
- Updating patient history/medications in the EMR
- Phlebotomy, EKGs & vaccines
- Assisting providers during exams/procedures
- Collecting/labeling specimens
- Patient check-in/out & follow-up
- Some administrative support including prior auths, referrals, records & phone calls
Must Haves
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ year Medical Assistant or similar medical-setting experience
- Completed training program such as EMT, CNA or LNA
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician
- Comfortable taking vitals and working in an EMR
- Strong communication, customer service & attention to detail
- Able to work onsite in Springfield, MA
Plusses
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
- 5 years MA experience
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program
- Medicaid/Medicare or managed-care experience
- Spanish bilingual
- Prior CareSource experience
- Medical billing/coding or insurance coordination background
Ideal Profile
A hands-on Medical Assistant with strong primary care/clinic experience who can jump into patient flow, vitals, blood draws, EKGs, vaccines and EMR documentation without needing a lot of ramp-up.
