An established, high-volume upscale restaurant group is hiring a Sous Chef to help lead a scratch kitchen. You’ll run shifts, develop the line, and hold the standard on every plate. If you’re a strong second-in-command ready for more ownership, this is your next step.

What You’ll Do

  • Run the line during service, and expedite and quality-check every plate that goes out.
  • Lead, train, and coach line cooks and prep staff, and step in as kitchen lead when the Executive Chef is off.
  • Manage prep lists, par levels, ordering, receiving, and inventory.
  • Control food and labor costs, minimize waste, and support menu costing.
  • Maintain recipe and plating consistency across all dayparts.
  • Support menu development, specials, and seasonal changes.
  • Execute large-party and banquet orders alongside regular service.
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and health code standards, and keep the kitchen inspection-ready.
  • Help with scheduling, hiring, and performance feedback for the kitchen team.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of culinary experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant, including 1+ year as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Lead Line Cook
  • Strong proteins and sauce work, with scratch-cooking fundamentals
  • Proven ability to lead a line under pressure while keeping quality high
  • Working knowledge of food cost, inventory, and ordering
  • ServSafe Manager certification, or the ability to obtain it within 30 days
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Culinary degree a plus but not required

Preferred

  • Upscale or fine dining experience
  • Banquet or private event experience
  • Familiarity with kitchen management or inventory software

What You Get

  • $50,000–$60,000 salary
  • Benefits package: [add specifics, e.g. medical, dental, vision, PTO, dining discount]
  • Growth path toward Executive Chef within an established restaurant group
  • A professional, well-equipped kitchen with a supportive leadership team

To apply: Submit your resume and include your current title, kitchen volume (covers per night), and team size you’ve led. Qualified candidates will be contacted for a confidential conversation.
