HIRING NOW – Call Center - Radiology Scheduler

Location: On-site Boston, MA

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Pay Rate: $23.00 – $26.00 / hour

What you will be doing:

Under general direction, the Radiology Scheduler works in a high-volume call center environment performing outbound patient scheduling and registration for diagnostic imaging services. Working from assigned electronic medical record (EMR) work queues, the Scheduler contacts patients, processes provider orders, schedules imaging appointments, and ensures an efficient, patient-centered experience.

• Outbound Patient Scheduling: Access assigned work queues daily to place 80–100+ outbound calls to patients, scheduling diagnostic imaging appointments (including Mammography, CT, MRI, and X-Ray) based on physician orders.
• Registration & Data Entry: Verify and update patient demographics, insurance coverage, and referral details in strict compliance with department policies and HIPAA guidelines.
• Patient Communication & De-escalation: Provide empathetic, patient-centered customer service during sensitive interactions, answer exam preparation questions, and utilize strong de-escalation skills to resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Workflow & Queue Management: Collaborate with lead staff to manage daily assigned case volume, ensure prompt patient outreach, document call outcomes, and maintain steady progress across order queues.
• Independent On-Site Execution: Work productively in an on-site office setting as a reliable self-starter while collaborating seamlessly with remote leadership via Microsoft Teams.
• System Documentation: Accurately record call notes, scheduling updates, and messages within Epic and related internal software systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of customer service experience in a call center, contact center, or office setting.
• Prior experience in a medical office, familiarity with medical terminology, or direct experience with Epic EMR software is preferred.
• Strong self-motivation, excellent verbal customer service skills, proven de-escalation abilities, and strong written communication for team collaboration.
• Demonstrated record of punctuality and strict adherence to schedules.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer applications, electronic medical records, and multi-line phone systems in a fast-paced environment.
