Job Summary

The Scheduling Administrator works closely to assist the Production Scheduler in covering the planning, scheduling, releasing and tracking of irradiation workflow from the sales department through the manufacturing plant. This position reports directly to the production scheduler.

Essential Functions:

Assists in the following tasks:

  • Enter special orders for stock or rework into the Rubicon system.
  • Coordinate with purchasing department to expedite raw materials when needed.
  • Coordinate the production, shipment and receipt of material that require processes from outside sources. I.e. Irradiation
  • Coordinating with sales team on tracking or expediting orders relevant to irradiation processing.

Knowledge:

  • Has a basic knowledge of the manufacturing processes (i.e., extrusion, twinning, cabling, braiding, taping, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of the manufacturing machines in the Valparaiso plant, understanding the basic capabilities
  • Understands raw materials needed for the manufacture of wire and cable.
  • Knowledge of the Rubicon system to identify customer sales orders, vendor purchase orders and production work orders, etc.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with minimal to no supervision
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively work with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstratesbasic analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Efficient in time management, organizational skills and attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of one year working in a wire & cable manufacturing facility in either a production or quality capacity

Work Environment:

Mainly works in an office environment with a minimal amount of time spent in a warehouse environment

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to spend long periods of time sitting/standing at a desk
