About This Role

We are seeking a reliable and organized Cook to join our team at 7495 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, TX. This position focuses on light culinary preparation, routine kitchen tasks, and essential kitchen management. Rather than heavy scratch cooking, you will primarily prepare simple staples, heat pre-packaged items, manage weekly menu planning, and oversee inventory ordering.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook daily staples including oatmeal, spaghetti, and grits.
• Heat and serve ready-made items such as chicken nuggets and fish sticks.
• Design and organize weekly menu plans that meet operational requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels and place precise supply orders to maintain kitchen stock.
• Maintain strict cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards across all food prep areas.

• Experience with basic kitchen preparation, simple cooking methods, and food portioning.
• Strong organizational skills to manage inventory tracking and routine ordering processes.
• Ability to plan balanced, structured menus efficiently.
• Dependable work ethic with strict adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols.
• Valid food handler's certification or the ability to obtain one quickly

Prior experience cooking in an institutional setting, daycare, senior living community, or school kitchen.

• Familiarity with commercial vendor ordering systems and inventory software.
• Experience creating budget-conscious menu plans.

Creative Learning Center is a childcare center located in Beaumont,Texas that provides care for children 6 weeks to 13 years old. Our hours of operation is Monday thru Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
