Entry-Level Small Engine / Automotive Field Service Helper

North Point Power is a Kohler generator dealer seeking a mechanically educated helper with an automotive or small-engine background to perform basic routine maintenance on residential Kohler standby generators. You will work directly with our lead service technician to handle preventative maintenance, oil changes, and fluid/filter services. This is an active field role covering an immediate 2-3 month leave, with potential to transition to full-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on residential Kohler generators (changing engine oil, oil/air filters, and spark plugs)
• Assist with basic 12V battery tests, fluid level checks, and test running equipment
• Keep company service van organized, stocked, and clean
• Log services with notes for each maintenance job in company database

Qualifications

• 6+ months hands-on experience with small engine repair (ie. quick-lube, auto shop) or enrollment in a vocational tech program
• Solid grasp of standard hand tools, fluid changes, and 4-stroke internal combustion engines
• Valid driver's license
• Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn and improve performance
• Good communication skills to coordinate with lead technician, customers, and office team
