Datacenter Engineer (Onsite In CT)

Our client is looking for 2 Hands on Data Center Engineers to work in a 24/7 Datacenter They will support all needs in that location. Skills needed:

The Data Center Operations Engineer will be team oriented individuals who will be responsible for installation and de-installation of network devices, monitor Z10 mainframe environment and peripherals. They will verify connectivity of all devices and also troubleshoot any reconnection issues. They will also be responsible for recording the assets that are assigned to a user.

Data Center is located in Norwalk, Connecticut. Data Center is 24/7 and 100% onsite.

Tech must be flexible because shifts (including weekends" will vary".

Top Skills' Details

1) 1-5 years exp. in a Data center, large Co-location sites. This is your typical colocation and will need experience in supporting the needs of an enterprise data center that is their corporate data center. Handles all major switches, servers, blades and storage.

2) 1-5 years exp. Data Center Operations Engineer will be team oriented individuals who will be responsible for installation and de-installation of network devices(Cisco, HP, Dell), monitor Z10 mainframe environment and peripherals.

3) 1-5 years exp. They will verify connectivity of all devices and also troubleshoot any reconnection issues. They will also be responsible for recording the assets and using service now for ticketing. Work with all internal teams needed to get to resolutions.

Installation of network devices and cable management systems

Provide technical support to our network owner/user community

Maintain and update an accurate documentation of Service Desk trouble tickets

Monitor System interfaces and other communication utilities and take proper action

Install/Rack Servers

Add Memory, H/D, Network Interface Cards, CPU etc.

Install KVM and In-Rack PDU

Monitor/Maintain all Servers in the Data Center

Familiarization with a large-scale IBM Z10 mainframe environment

IPL, TSO, MVS, Jes2, CA7

IBM 4000, IBM 6500 Canon VS 4400

Service Now Ticketing System

Asset Management

Back up Daily/Monthly tapes for offsite storage

Inventory

Perform all other related duties

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwalk, CT.

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
