Pipe Crew Excavator Operator
Reliant Services is seeking a skilled and dependable Excavator Operator to join our underground utility and excavation team. This position plays a key role in supporting our plumbing and excavation operations Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Pick up excavator and trailer from shop and safely transport to job sites
- Operate excavator for underground utility and excavation projects
- Dig trenches to proper depth and grade for sewer, water, and drain installations
- Assist Lead Plumber during excavation and pipe installation
- Backfill and properly compact trenches upon completion
- Safely load equipment and return trailer to shop after each job
- Maintain excavator maintenance schedule (greasing every 50 hours, fluid checks, routine inspections, etc.)
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues immediately
- Follow all safety procedures and utility locating protocols
Requirements:
- Experience operating excavators/excavation equipment (required)
- Valid driver’s license
- Medical Card (or able to obtain one)
- Ability to tow trailer safely
- Strong work ethic and team mindset
- Knowledge of underground utilities and trench safety
- Ability to perform physical labor when assisting crew
