PROJECT ENGINEER – MISSION CRITICAL / DATA CENTER

Location: Muskogee, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Full-Time
Base Salary: $85,000–$100,000
Reports To: Project Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of mission-critical and data center construction projects. The Project Engineer will coordinate project controls, administration, documentation, procurement, scheduling, cost control, quality, billing, and project closeout activities.

The ideal candidate will have commercial construction experience, strong project documentation skills, and preferably experience working on mission-critical or data center projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage RFIs, submittals, logs, meeting minutes, correspondence, and document control.
  • Perform constructability and document reviews, identifying and escalating scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential issues.
  • Maintain procurement and submittal logs, with particular attention to long-lead equipment and materials.
  • Support subcontractor scope development, buyout, onboarding, and compliance tracking.
  • Assist with budgets, commitments, change management, EAC/CTC forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate billing backup, lien waivers, and physical-progress documentation.
  • Support schedule updates, look-ahead planning, critical-path activities, and delay/recovery documentation.
  • Maintain QA/QC records, testing documentation, turnover packages, O&Ms, warranties, as-builts, and closeout documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure project documentation and administrative activities are completed accurately and on schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • commercial construction or project engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience with mission-critical, data center, industrial, or similarly complex construction projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, project controls, scheduling, procurement, and cost management.
  • Proficiency with construction/project management and document-control software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in an active construction-site environment.
