A growing, established mid-sized law firm is seeking a motivated Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its expanding team. The firm handles a broad range of business and litigation matters and offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth, meaningful client interaction, and increased responsibility.
The ideal candidate will have strong legal research, writing, and litigation skills, a commitment to client service, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Key ResponsibilitiesWork with senior and partner-level attorneys on research, legal writing, and litigation matters.
Communicate directly with clients to understand their legal concerns and provide appropriate legal guidance.
Develop litigation strategies designed to resolve matters efficiently and cost-effectively.
Prepare and present arguments in civil legal proceedings.
Handle various stages of civil litigation, including discovery, depositions, motions practice, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, memoranda, motions, and briefs.
Conduct legal research and stay informed regarding applicable laws and legislation.
Participate in client meetings and firm meetings.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients.
Manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Contribute to professional development and business/community relationships.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable firm policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Minimum 2 years of civil litigation experience.
Active Washington State Bar license.
Demonstrated experience with civil litigation and dispute resolution.
Experience with depositions, discovery, motions practice, mediations, arbitrations, and trial-related matters.
Strong legal research and writing skills.
Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong work ethic and initiative.
Ability to manage changing priorities and competing demands.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new legal technology.
Competitive salary of $120,000-$145,000, depending on experience.
