Freshly Printed: The Role You've Been Looking For
As a Folder Operator, you'll be an essential part of our folding team, responsible for setting up and operating folding equipment to produce high-quality finished printed products. You'll monitor production, make machine adjustments, inspect finished materials, troubleshoot equipment issues, and help keep jobs running efficiently and on schedule. This is a hands-on role for someone with machine operating experience who is quality-minded, dependable, and takes pride in keeping equipment running to its full potential.
From Setup to Finish: Your Role in the Process
Set up and operate folding machines according to job specifications
Read and interpret job tickets and production instructions
Adjust machine settings to accommodate various paper stocks, sizes, and fold configurations
Monitor production runs to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency
Inspect finished products for proper fold sequence, alignment, and overall quality
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and production issues
Perform preventive maintenance and maintain equipment cleanliness
Record production data and report quality, maintenance, or operational concerns
Minimize waste and downtime while keeping equipment operating efficiently
Occasionally instruct and assist other employees as directed by a supervisor
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Work collaboratively with pressroom, bindery, and production teams to meet customer delivery requirements
The Fine Print: What You Need to Succeed
High school diploma or equivalent
1–3 years of machine operating experience required
Must be quality-minded with strong attention to detail
Must be able to read and understand job tickets
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment and production issues
Ability to work independently and make decisions within established guidelines
Ability to prioritize multiple jobs and maintain production efficiency
Must have a good work and attendance record
Must take reasonable care of company property and equipment
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform pulling, pushing, reaching, and stooping activities
Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift
Must be team-oriented, dependable, and safety-conscious
Ability to work overtime when needed
Your Production Schedule:
Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm during training and then move to a 12-hour, 3-day shift. A $2/hour shift differential is applied once working 12-hour shifts.
