Healthcare Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Healthcare Customer Service Representative. This position is ideal for someone with high-volume phone experience who is comfortable working independently, multitasking, navigating multiple computer systems, and assisting patients throughout the referral and order process.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a high-volume workload consisting of approximately 30 inbound and 4050 outbound calls per day.
  • Assist patients with referrals, documentation requirements, order updates, and general questions.
  • Process and enter DME orders accurately into the appropriate systems.
  • Assist occasional walk-in patients with basic order and service needs.
  • Navigate multiple EMR systems to obtain and review required patient documentation.
  • Enter and maintain accurate insurance, authorization, and expiration information.
  • Contact patients when documentation does not meet insurance guidelines and explain next steps or available options.
  • Verify insurance information and communicate updates or discrepancies to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Accurately document all calls, emails, orders, and patient interactions.
  • Process and verify documentation and orders according to established procedures.
  • Assist with resolving patient concerns and provide timely, professional customer service.
  • Meet established quality assurance and performance expectations.
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of customer service experience required.
  • 1+ year of call center or high-volume phone experience, ideally handling 40+ calls per day.
  • 1+ year of Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 experience.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate multiple systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to problem-solve and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated job stability and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous DME (Durable Medical Equipment) experience.
  • Healthcare, medical office, or patient services experience.
  • Previous office-based customer service experience.
  • Experience working with EMR systems, insurance verification, referrals, or authorizations.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Evansville, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
