Inventory Shift Lead – Cannabis Retail

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $19.75–$20.50 per hour, based on experience, plus tips
MMD Marina Del Rey is seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Inventory Shift Lead. This position supports the management team by overseeing inventory intake, product organization, system accuracy, compliance, and daily back-of-house operations.
The ideal candidate understands cannabis inventory controls, works accurately under deadlines, and can support both the inventory department and sales floor as needed.
Responsibilities
- Receive cannabis product deliveries and verify items against invoices and manifests
- Inspect products for accuracy, damage, labeling, packaging, and compliance
- Accurately enter and maintain inventory information in Blaze and Metrc
- Accept or reject transfers within required regulatory timeframes
- Organize and securely store cannabis products in designated inventory areas
- Complete regular inventory counts, audits, and reconciliations
- Research and help resolve inventory discrepancies
- Monitor product quantities and communicate low-stock or overstock concerns
- Review package dates and identify aging or slow-moving inventory
- Prepare products for the sales floor and ensure items are properly labeled and priced
- Maintain accurate records for samples, damaged products, returns, and adjustments
- Keep the inventory room clean, secure, and organized
- Assist with monthly and end-of-month inventory counts
- Follow all company inventory procedures and California cannabis regulations
- Lead and support employees during assigned shifts
- Assist customers and support the sales floor when operationally necessary
- Complete opening or closing duties as assigned
- Immediately report inventory, compliance, security, or operational concerns to management
- Perform other duties as assigned by store or regional leadership
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Cannabis inventory experience strongly preferred
- Experience using Metrc and a cannabis point-of-sale system preferred
- Previous Shift Lead, keyholder, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with invoices, manifests, spreadsheets, and inventory reports
- Able to identify and investigate discrepancies accurately
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Comfortable assisting customers and working on the sales floor
- Available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
- Must meet all state and local requirements for cannabis employees
