Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and place fiber cable into clips according to detailed blueprints or enlarged work instructions.
  • Feed each colored wire through connectors in the correct order, maintaining perfect accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Apply a small drop of epoxy and carefully pull wires through to create a uniform coating over the entire wire surface.
  • Place completed assemblies into curing devices to dry and set the epoxy coating.
  • Run assemblies through final polishing stages to achieve required finish and performance standards.
  • Test completed assemblies to verify that all connections function properly and meet quality requirements.
  • Use small hand tools, microscopes, or projection scopes to perform delicate assembly tasks as needed.
  • Work with small parts and guidewires in a clean room environment while maintaining a neat and organized workstation.
  • Follow production and medical assembly procedures, including documentation and adherence to work instructions.
  • Contribute feedback and suggestions to improve processes, helping to make operations smoother, faster, and more efficient.
  • Adapt to a rapidly growing, start-up style division where processes may evolve and improve over time.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly with supervisors and support functions to address issues and maintain throughput.

Essential Skills

  • 6 months to 1+ year of manufacturing experience, preferably in small parts assembly or medical device assembly.
  • Ability to work accurately with very small components, wires, and assemblies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to understand and follow work instructions and document work as needed.
  • Ability to distinguish and see color accurately to ensure each colored wire is placed in the correct order.
  • Experience using a microscope or the ability and comfort to work under a microscope or projection scope.
  • Proficiency in using small hand tools for assembly tasks.
  • Ability to follow blueprints, work instructions, or visual guides for assembly processes.
  • Comfort working in a clean room environment with attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • Strong focus on quality, precision, and consistency in repetitive tasks.
  • Willingness to work a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with potential Friday overtime as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with guidewire, catheter, or wire assembly.
  • Experience in medical assembly or electronics assembly.
  • Familiarity with clean room assembly practices.
  • Experience in production environments where precision and repeatability are critical.
  • Comfort using microscopes or projection scopes for extended periods.
  • Ability to contribute ideas for continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Adaptability and patience in a new, rapidly growing division where processes are still being refined.
