Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, test, and improve components for automated inspection and vibratory conveying systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design experience, particularly with food-processing equipment and various manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design components from concept through production using 3D CAD and engineering analysis tools.
- Design and develop sheet-metal, machined, extruded, cast, molded, and welded components.
- Develop test equipment, fixtures, testing procedures, and acceptance criteria.
- Troubleshoot equipment design, manufacturing, performance, and reliability issues using root-cause analysis.
- Work with manufacturing engineering, quality, suppliers, and production teams to improve components and processes.
- Specify and select purchased mechanical components and work directly with suppliers.
- Support equipment installation, testing, repairs, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
- Travel to customer locations as needed to inspect equipment and resolve performance/reliability issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Relevant mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience designing components for food-processing equipment preferred.
- Strong experience with AutoCAD and 3D CAD; SolidWorks preferred.
- Knowledge of welding and welded assembly design.
- Experience with mechanical engineering analysis and structured problem-solving/root-cause analysis.
