Constellation Search Group is looking for an Inventory Accounting Analyst for a full-time, on-site direct hire position. This is a hands-on opportunity that combines inventory accounting, financial planning and analysis, forecasting, and business reporting. The Analyst will work closely with accounting, finance, operations, and plant teams to analyze financial performance, support inventory controls, identify trends and variances, and provide insights that support business decisions.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Accounting & Controls:

  • Support physical inventory counts and inventory audit activities.
  • Prepare and review inventory valuation, cost of materials, and inventory-related financial data.
  • Analyze transaction-level inventory, purchasing, and cost information to identify discrepancies and determine root causes.
  • Maintain documentation related to inventory accounting procedures and controls.
  • Partner with operations and plant teams to identify pricing, usage, and inventory changes that impact financial results.
  • Prepare monthly reporting related to inventory, purchases, material costs, and related financial activity.
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to inventory and accounting.

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
  • Analyze actual results compared to budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.
  • Investigate financial variances and communicate key findings to management.
  • Build and maintain financial models related to revenue, expenses, profitability, and business performance.
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Utilize Excel, business intelligence tools, and emerging technologies to improve reporting, forecasting, and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of accounting or finance experience; strong internship or co-op experience will be considered.
  • Cost accounting or inventory accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling, and working with large datasets.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Power BI or other business intelligence experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand the "why" behind financial results.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet financial deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
