**Position Overview:

**

We are seeking experienced and dependable Machine Operators with strong Slitting experience to join the manufacturing team in West Columbia, SC. The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment used in coating, slitting, cutting, and converting processes. This position plays an important role in ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and according to required quality specifications. Candidates who have worked in the pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA), adhesive tape, tape manufacturing, coating, or converting industry will be strongly preferred.

**Key Responsibilities:

**

  • Set up, operate, and monitor slitting and coating production equipment to meet daily production requirements.

  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, production schedules, and product specifications.

  • Monitor machine and process variables to ensure finished products meet required quality and performance standards.

  • Load raw materials onto production equipment and unload finished products according to specifications and the bill of materials.

  • Operate slitting equipment used for converting and cutting material to the required dimensions.

  • Monitor equipment throughout the production process and make necessary machine adjustments to maintain product quality and operating efficiency.

  • Perform in-process quality inspections using approved measuring tools and equipment.

  • Identify quality concerns and adjust machine settings when necessary to reduce defects and maintain production standards.

  • Maintain accurate production records, machine logs, material usage information, and other required documentation.

  • Follow production schedules and work toward meeting daily output and productivity goals.

  • Participate in operator-led preventive maintenance activities to help maintain reliable machine performance.

  • Identify and report equipment problems, machine malfunctions, or issues with measuring devices that could impact product quality or production.

  • Work closely with the Slitting Manager to improve machine settings, increase production efficiency, and reduce material scrap.

  • Support and train Slitting Helpers on proper machine workflow, production procedures, and safety requirements when required.

  • Serve as a machine lead when needed and help support other members of the production team.

  • Follow all company safety, health, PPE, and housekeeping requirements.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production/work area.

**Required Qualifications:

**

  • Must have previous Slitting experience.

  • 5–10 years of experience within a manufacturing environment as a Machine Operator, Machine Helper, or similar production professional.

  • 2–4 years of specific Machine Operator experience.

  • Experience operating or working around slitting, cutting, coating, converting, or similar roll-processing equipment.

  • Basic reading and mathematical comprehension skills.

  • Ability to understand production instructions, measurements, specifications, and safety requirements.

  • Ability to identify basic machine or quality issues and make appropriate adjustments.
