THE ROLE

Veterans Roofing is looking for an Assistant Production Manager to help lead the people, systems, scheduling, quality, and day-to-day execution behind our growing production operation. This position sits between senior production leadership and our field teams. You'll help make sure Project Supervisors have what they need, projects are prepared before crews arrive, homeowners are communicated with, problems are escalated early, quality standards are maintained, and completed projects are actually completed not left sitting at 95%. The right person sees problems coming before they become emergencies.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Support Production leadership with day-to-day department operations

  • Help oversee and develop Project Supervisors and field personnel

  • Review upcoming projects for production readiness

  • Identify scheduling, labor, material, equipment, permit, documentation, or homeowner issues before installation

  • Monitor active projects throughout the day

  • Ensure Project Supervisors maintain company standards for communication, documentation, cleanliness, safety, and quality

  • Assist with daily and weekly production scheduling

  • Help balance crews, supervisors, equipment, trailers, and company resources

  • Coordinate with Sales and Office teams when production information is missing or incorrect

  • Help resolve field issues and homeowner concerns before they escalate

  • Conduct job-site visits and quality-control checks

  • Review project photos, documentation, notes, and completion requirements

  • Ensure change orders and additional work are properly documented and communicated

  • Monitor callbacks, punch-list items, service issues, and incomplete projects

  • Assist with training and development of Project Supervisors

  • Reinforce safety expectations and company procedures

  • Track production KPIs and identify recurring operational problems

  • Participate in post-project reviews when something goes wrong and help build systems that prevent recurrence

  • Step into operational leadership when senior Production leadership is unavailable

  • Protect the homeowner experience from contract handoff through final completion

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Roofing, exterior construction, or residential construction experience strongly preferred

  • Previous field leadership or production-management experience

  • Strong understanding of job-site operations

  • Excellent organizational and scheduling ability

  • Ability to manage several active projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Strong homeowner communication skills

  • Ability to hold field personnel accountable professionally

  • Comfortable working with CRM, scheduling, photo-documentation, and project-management systems

  • Strong problem-solving skills under pressure

  • Ability to identify root causes instead of repeatedly treating symptoms

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Comfortable visiting active construction sites and working at heights when necessary

  • Extreme ownership mentality
