Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This role focuses on setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality parts in a fast-paced production environment. You will work with technical drawings and precision measuring tools to ensure all components meet strict quality standards, while contributing to a small, collaborative team and maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including Okuma lathes and Seiki mills, to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
  • Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other hand tools to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor machine operations, identify issues, and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and promptly report any mechanical or operational issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Complete production logs, inspection records, and other documentation accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily and weekly production goals.
  • Use mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to address minor mechanical or process problems.
  • Handle general production tasks such as packing, material handling, and use of power tools as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morton Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
