High Reach Forklift Operator 3rd Shift

Job Description

This role focuses on operating stand-up high reach forklifts to pick and move orders in a fast-paced, climate-controlled warehouse environment. The primary responsibility is safe and efficient operation of stand-up forklifts, with occasional off-lift work handling orders by hand. You work on an overnight 3rd shift schedule and initially train on days to become familiar with processes, equipment, and performance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up high reach forklifts safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
• Pick orders accurately and consistently to meet established quotas and productivity targets.
• Handle products and materials both on and off the forklift, including manual order picking when needed.
• Navigate a busy warehouse environment with multiple forklifts and loading activities while maintaining safety standards.
• Use Crown stand-up forklifts (or similar equipment) to move, stage, and organize inventory.
• Follow supervisor instructions and meet performance expectations for speed, accuracy, and order completion.
• Support receiving activities and other warehouse operations as needed.
• Perform basic equipment checks and report any issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with facility guidelines.

Essential Skills

• 6 months to 1 year of recent stand-up forklift experience, preferably high reach equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to operate stand-up forklifts confidently and safely in a busy warehouse.
• Experience with order picking in a warehouse or distribution setting.
• Ability to meet order quotas and work at an efficient, sustained pace.
• Capability to pass a forklift operator (FLO) test during the interview process.
• Comfort working overnight hours from approximately 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Wednesday.
• Strong awareness of warehouse safety practices, especially around moving equipment and loading operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating Crown stand-up forklifts or similar Crown equipment is highly beneficial.
• Experience in receiving or inbound warehouse operations is a strong plus.
• Willingness to train on day shift (approximately 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) for the first few weeks.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with many moving parts and changing priorities.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking and inventory handling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlisle, PA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Carlisle,PA.
