Concrete Curb Machine Operator

Blythe Development is a 100% employee-owned, licensed general contractor headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded in 1989, we specialize in site work, road construction, and golf course construction throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Our more than 900 employees self-perform approximately 80% of site groundwork, including clearing, grading, utilities, drainage, concrete, bridges, stone base, and asphalt paving.

The Curb Machine Operator safely operates curb-and-gutter equipment on heavy civil and site-development projects. This position supports concrete placement and finishing, establishes string line for accurate alignment and grade, maintains assigned equipment, and follows all safety and incident-reporting procedures.

• Operate a curb machine safely and productively to place concrete curb and gutter
• Set string line to establish alignment and grade for concrete work
• Perform concrete-finishing duties as needed
• Inspect, clean, maintain, and secure equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Follow all safety and incident-reporting requirements
• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and job-site problems promptly to a supervisor
• Work collaboratively with the crew to meet production and quality expectations

• Experience operating a curb machine; GPS experience preferred
• Experience setting string line for concrete work
• Ability to perform concrete-finishing work as needed
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery and tools
• Strong attention to safety, equipment care, quality, and productivity

• Regularly work near moving machinery and tools, requiring manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination, quick movement, and stamina
• Lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing more than 50 pounds
• Use the legs, hips, shoulders, abdominal muscles, and lower back for sustained physical support
• Stand or walk for extended periods and climb ladders
