We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join a team in Rowlett, Texas on a Contract basis with an immediate start. This opportunity is well suited for a senior-level accounting specialist who can step into a hands-on role, oversee daily financial activity, and maintain accurate reporting in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will independently manage core accounting operations, support monthly close activities, and deliver clear financial insights to leadership.

This is a 3-month contract position

100% ONSITE 5 days a week in Rowlett, Texas.

Must have Quickbooks experience

Interim Accounting Manager (contract position):

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily and weekly cash activity through the company’s banking and treasury platform, ensuring funds are monitored and transactions are processed accurately.

• Oversee general ledger maintenance by preparing entries, posting accounting activity, and completing monthly account reconciliations.

• Lead the month-end close process from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is complete and reliable.

• Prepare recurring monthly journal entries, including standard adjustments required for accurate period-end reporting.

• Record payroll-related accounting activity each month and ensure payroll entries are properly reflected in the ledger.

• Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses and post monthly amortization entries in alignment with established timelines.

• Track fixed assets by recording additions, updating supporting schedules, and posting monthly depreciation expense.

• Generate monthly financial statements, analyze results for reasonableness, and address management questions regarding period-over-period fluctuations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Prior experience serving as a controller or lead accounting role within a smaller company environment.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and U.S. accounting principles.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced capability with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial trends to management.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive financial information with a high level of discretion and care.
