Quality Inspector

Danbury, CT | Full-Time | On-Site (7:00am - 3:30pm)


About the Role

AB Electronics is looking for a thorough and conscientious Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to conduct thorough inspections on printed circuit boards (PCBs), electronic and cable assemblies, and finished products. This role involves collaborating with our production team to ensure internal and external quality standards are met before we ship our product. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for following established quality control procedures, conducting quality tests, and documenting any non-conforming products.


What You'll Do

  • Perform inspections on electronic components, assemblies, and finished products.
  • Follow established quality control procedures and standards.
  • Conduct tests to ensure product reliability and functionality using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, fluke meters, and continuity testers.
  • Document all inspection results, including non-conformances and defects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

What You Bring

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector or a role with similar responsibilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic components and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality control principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic computer literacy.

What Will Set You Apart

  • 1-3 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment preferred.
  • IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 knowledge or certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of quality standards like AS9100 and/or ISO 13485 is a plus.
  • Experience navigating computer program interfaces like FactoryLogix.


Physical Requirements

Must have strong visual acuity for inspecting small components, including under magnification using a microscope. Able to perform repetitive hand and arm movements with fine dexterity. Able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally. Comfortable wearing PPE and working in a production environment.
