Job Description
The ELL Instructor will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality contextualized English language instruction tailored to the needs of adult learners in the workplace. This role requires flexibility, cultural awareness, and a commitment to learner-centered teaching. Instructors collaborate with program staff, employers, and learners to ensure a quality curriculum plan and a positive classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing a curriculum specifically tailored to individual employer partners and specific programs to serve English learners at various English levels.
- Assess learners’ skills and progress using program tools and provides feedback to both learners and program coordinators.
- Integrate workplace-specific vocabulary and scenarios to strengthen communication skills relevant to learners’ jobs.
- Create a supportive, respectful classroom environment that fosters participation, confidence, and skill-building.
- Track attendance, learner progress, and submit required reports/documentation on time.
- Collaborate with ICRI staff to ensure program quality and alignment with employer and other ESL site needs.
