Job Summary:

The Project Manager provides overall leadership and management for assigned industrial construction, maintenance, repair, and capital projects from preconstruction handoff through final closeout. This position independently plans and directs project execution; coordinates labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and technical resources; controls scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality. The Project Manager is accountable for the safe, profitable, compliant, and timely delivery of work in active industrial facilities and field environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review estimates, proposals, contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, and customer requirements during project handoff to confirm scope, assumptions, exclusions, deliverables, commercial terms, and execution risks.
  • Lead project kickoff activities and develop a comprehensive execution plan that establishes project objectives, milestones, staffing, site logistics, communication protocols, document controls, and performance expectations.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules, cost-loaded budgets, manpower plans, procurement requirements, equipment needs, and short-interval look-ahead plans.
  • Direct and coordinate project teams, including superintendents, foremen, field personnel, administrative support, vendors, and subcontractors; establish priorities, delegate responsibilities, and hold team members accountable for results.
  • Coordinate with operations, estimating, engineering, safety, quality, purchasing, accounting, and other internal departments to ensure project requirements and resources are aligned throughout execution.
  • Interpret and administer contract documents, drawings, specifications, codes, and customer standards; initiate requests for information and obtain technical clarification when field conditions or documents conflict.
  • Coordinate site access, mobilization, laydown areas, temporary facilities, permits, outages, shutdowns, tie-ins, equipment isolation, and other site-specific requirements with the client and field leadership.
  • Champion the company's safety culture and partner with Safety personnel to ensure work planning and execution comply with company policies, client rules, regulatory requirements, job hazard analyses, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Ensure project work meets approved drawings, specifications, procedures, codes, inspection requirements, and quality standards; coordinate testing, inspections, nonconformance resolution, and turnover documentation.
  • Purchase or coordinate the purchase of project materials, equipment, rentals, and services within assigned authority; verify requirements, monitor commitments, and follow up to support on-time delivery and schedule performance.
  • Monitor daily field reports, installed quantities, labor productivity, equipment utilization, material usage, subcontractor performance, and schedule status to identify trends and take timely corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate cost controls and forecasts by reviewing labor, material, equipment, purchase orders, subcontracts, invoices, commitments, billings, and projected cost-to-complete against the approved budget.

Education:

  • PMP certification preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Ability to use project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana).

Work Location and Travel:

  • 2730 Mine and Mill Road, Lakeland, Florida 33801
  • Will require travel to project sites or client locations.

Work Environment:

  • Corporate office environment with frequent onsite visits to job locations
  • This is a full-time position. Days and Hours of work may vary and are somewhat flexible, but this position is generally required to work from the work location above Monday through Friday, between the core hours of 7 am to 6 pm. Must be willing to work nights, weekends & holidays, when necessary.

Physical Requirements:

Talk/Hear: Frequently communicates with clients, field supervision, employees, vendors, and subcontractors in person, by telephone, or by radio and must hear instructions, alarms, and surrounding jobsite activity.

Stand/Sit: Frequently sits while performing office and computer-based work and occasionally stands for meetings, inspections, and field coordination.

Walk: Occasionally walks through construction sites, fabrication shops, and industrial facilities, including uneven or obstructed surfaces.

Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Frequently uses computers, mobile devices, radios, documents, and standard office or field equipment.

Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or bends while inspecting work areas or accessing project locations.

Climb/Balance: Occasionally climbs stairs or ladders and maintains balance while navigating industrial facilities and project sites.

See: Must have visual acuity sufficient to review drawings, schedules, cost reports, computer screens, field conditions, and safety hazards.

Carry, Weight, Lift: Occasionally carries or lifts project documents, equipment, samples, or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

Exposure to Work: May be exposed to high noise levels, dust, fumes, weather, temperature extremes, moving equipment, and active industrial operations during site visits.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
