Packaging Line Lead
Location:
Mount Prospect, IL
Shift: 1st 7am to 3:30pm
Pay: $24-27 per hour based on experience

Kelly isseeking a Packaging Line Lead to oversee daily operations on non-sterile liquid filling and packaging lines. This role is responsible for leading a team of operators, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, and supporting a safe and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily packaging and liquid filling line operations.
  • Verify line setup, product materials, and equipment before production starts.
  • Monitor filling accuracy, cap torque, labeling, and product quality throughout production.
  • Coordinate product changeovers, cleaning, and line clearance activities.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assign daily tasks and provide guidance to operators and temporary staff.
  • Train new employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Complete production records, equipment logs, and cleaning documentation accurately.
  • Perform routine quality checks and report any issues to Quality or Management.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, SOPs, FDA regulations, and workplace safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food manufacturing, or another regulated production environment preferred.
  • Experience with liquid filling, bottling, packaging, capping, or labeling equipment is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, quality standards, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable wearing required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hairnets, and gowns.

Experience leading packaging teams and troubleshooting production equipment is a strong advantage.
