Job Description

Job Description
Senior Structural Engineer

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Atlanta. This is an opportunity to take ownership of structural engineering solutions supporting complex mechanical and plumbing systems while working directly with project teams, fabrication, field operations, and leadership.

This is not a traditional structural design role. You will have the opportunity to see your designs move from engineering through fabrication and into the field, with a direct impact on constructability, project execution, and customer outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Design and seal structural calculations and details for pump skids, piping skids, packaged mechanical systems, equipment supports, and structural attachments

• Design pipe support systems addressing gravity, lateral, seismic, and thermal loads

• Design seismic restraint systems for piping, ductwork, plumbing, and mechanical equipment

• Perform wind load analysis and design restraint systems for rooftop and exterior mechanical equipment

• Review delegated design submittals, shop drawings, and structural support packages

• Apply IBC, ASCE 7, SMACNA, MSS, and other applicable codes and standards

• Work closely with project management, virtual construction, fabrication, and field teams to ensure designs are practical and constructible

• Participate in project coordination meetings with clients, general contractors, and other trades

• Visit jobsites to review existing conditions, installations, and field issues

• Communicate engineering concepts clearly to project managers, superintendents, fabricators, and installers

• Help develop standardized engineering solutions that improve constructability, reduce risk, and support project schedules

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering

• Active Professional Engineer license

• 7+ years of relevant structural engineering experience

• Strong experience with structural supports for mechanical and piping systems

• Experience with seismic and wind restraint design

• Strong understanding of how mechanical and plumbing systems are fabricated and installed

• Experience reviewing shop drawings and delegated design packages

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients and construction teams

• Someone who enjoys being involved in the construction process rather than working strictly behind a desk

Why This Opportunity

• $125K+ base salary with $175K+ total compensation potential

• High visibility role working directly with engineering and construction leadership

• Opportunity to work on complex mechanical and plumbing systems from engineering through installation

• Direct exposure to fabrication, virtual construction, project management, and field operations

• Client facing position with significant ownership and influence

• Opportunity to build a portfolio of highly technical work

• Fast paced environment where your engineering decisions directly impact real projects

• Strong long term growth opportunity within a well established organization
