Job Description

Join a collaborative production team where you operate machinery in extrusion, top coating, or inspection to manufacture high-quality automotive products such as dashboard materials and soft-top convertible covers. You will contribute directly to a fast-paced manufacturing process while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency on the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Operate large production machines in extrusion, top coating, or inspection according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor materials as they move through machinery to ensure consistent quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Inspect finished and in-process products for defects, accuracy, and overall quality, and document findings as required.
  • Perform packing and general labor tasks, including organizing, labeling, and preparing products for shipment or further processing.
  • Follow production documentation and complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to meet production goals.
  • Stand for extended periods of 10 or more hours while performing machine operation, inspection, and packing tasks.
  • Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily production activities.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment while working around large machinery.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in machine operation or machine operating in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in general labor or production work.
  • Ability to perform product inspection with strong attention to detail.
  • Capability to handle packing tasks and material handling responsibilities.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for 10 or more hours during a shift.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Comfortable completing documentation and following written procedures.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work weekly overtime when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with operating large industrial machines.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, production-focused setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse-style manufacturing facility with large industrial machines that process materials for automotive products. You will work around heavy equipment and production lines in a fast-paced environment that requires consistent focus on safety and quality. Shifts typically run from 6:20 AM to 4:20 PM, with the option to extend to 6:20 PM for additional hours, or from 6:20 PM to 4:20 AM, with the option to extend to 6:20 AM for additional hours. The work involves standing for most of the shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working closely with a team on the production floor. Appropriate industrial footwear, such as steel-toe shoes or boots, is required, and reimbursement is available once permanent.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Acton, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
