Penn Pak, a business unit of Pennington Seed/Central Garden & Pet Company, is a leader in the bird food manufacturing industry. We are searching for a Batching Operator for our Madison, GA location. This role is critical to maintaining our high standards in production and ensuring our products meet quality and safety standards. As part of our team, you will be responsible for various tasks, working with a team to meet tight schedules and deadlines safely and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run equipment and monitor the computer that controls the placement of seed to the production lines.
- Make labels on the label printer that provide lot numbers for all production as well as incoming raw materials.
- Record all batches made to include lot numbers of raw materials on the office log for recall purposes.
- Manually place some ingredients into “Hand Add” mixes.
- Regular and reliable attendance is essential to this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to lift up to 50-55 lbs.
- Able to work closely with other team members in a designated work area, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods, with frequent stooping, squatting, overhead lifting, and walking.
- Proficiency in counting and basic math skills.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in agriculture, production, or a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Office/Computer experience preferred.
- Detail oriented.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work environment includes a non-climate-controlled warehouse production facility, with frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts, product irritants/allergens, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasionally, tasks may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and amidst moderate noise levels.
