Job Title: Operator

Location: Portland, OR

Position Type: Full-Time, Contract

Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM (4x10 Schedule 3-day weekend every Friday–Sunday!)

Pay Rate: $20.00/hr

About the Role

Join a dedicated manufacturing team responsible for producing life-saving medical technologies. As an Operator, you will work within a controlled manufacturing cell performing precision assembly, testing, and inspection operations for implantable cardiac devices, including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related subassemblies.

Working under close supervision, you will follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing travelers to ensure zero-defect quality and total compliance with medical regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual assembly, routing, minor repair, and testing operations on intricate cardiac rhythm management devices and micro-components.
  • Accurately complete manufacturing travelers, quality tracking sheets, and electronic data collection records to ensure 100% part and process traceability.
  • Strictly adhere to written work instructions, visual aids, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives, 5S workplace organization, and cell-level quality improvement projects.
  • Maintain active communication with supervisors, quality inspectors, and cross-functional team members regarding line flow, equipment status, or material anomalies.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous assembly, manufacturing, or fine-detail manual work experience is preferred (medical device or cleanroom background is a plus, but entry-level candidates with strong dexterity are encouraged to apply).
  • Exceptional fine-motor skills and hand dexterity to manipulate very small parts, wires, and tools.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort entering production data into electronic tracking systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to comprehend and follow detailed written instructions, good verbal communication, and reliable, punctual attendance.
