Electrical Engineering Manager

Spokane Valley, WA | On-site | $120,000 to $170,000 base + annual bonus

About the Company

Our client is an industrial manufacturer that designs and builds automated casting equipment for aluminum producers around the world. Their machines, molds, and automated control systems turn molten aluminum into the billets and ingots that become automotive components, aerospace parts, sheet and plate, and extruded products. Their equipment runs in production facilities across the globe, and the engineering behind it is designed and built in-house.

About the Role

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. You will lead a team of six electrical and automation engineers and designers while staying close to the technical work: PLC programming, SCADA/HMI development, control panel design, and commissioning. You will own the team's schedule and priorities, set engineering standards, and represent the department with customers and with internal manufacturing, R&D, and technical service teams.The team has strong technical talent early in their careers. The right person will develop them, protect their growth, and raise the level of the whole department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Mechanical Engineering considered with strong controls background)
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering or industrial automation experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
  • Strong hands-on PLC programming experience
  • Strong SCADA/HMI development experience
  • SolidWorks experience preferred; strong AutoCAD Electrical users will be considered
  • Experience with industrial equipment, machine controls, or automated manufacturing systems
  • Working knowledge of control panels, low-voltage power distribution, and NEC standards
  • Clear communication skills with customers, peers, and leadership
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Leadership Experience

Experience leading engineers or designers is strongly preferred. Senior electrical or controls engineers with 5+ years of experience who are ready to step into their first formal leadership role are encouraged to apply.

Schedule and Travel

  • On-site five days per week to start, with hybrid flexibility possible once established
  • Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., salaried
  • Travel is approximately 2 to 3 weeks per year, usually no more than 5 days at a time, for customer projects and commissioning

Compensation and Benefits

  • $120,000 to $170,000 base salary, depending on experience
