Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading, unloading, moving, stacking, and organizing materials while maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload goods from trucks, containers, racks, and storage areas.
- Move, stack, and organize materials according to warehouse procedures.
- Inspect the forklift before each shift and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Follow all workplace safety rules, operating procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Ensure materials are handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials when required.
- Assist with warehouse housekeeping and maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to ensure smooth material movement.
- Follow inventory, storage, and labeling procedures.
- Report damaged goods, unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents promptly.
- Perform other warehouse and material-handling duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a forklift operator or in a warehouse/material-handling role preferred.
- Valid forklift/operator certification or license, where required by local regulations.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in a warehouse or industrial environment.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling duties.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and responsibility toward equipment and materials.
Working Conditions
- Work may involve standing, walking, lifting, and operating machinery for extended periods.
- May work in warehouse, manufacturing, loading/unloading, or outdoor areas.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
- May require shift work, overtime, weekends, or holidays depending on operational requirements.
