First Security Bank is seeking a Loan Processor. This position can be based at any of our 8 Kansas branches, Overbrook, Paola, Carbondale, Tonganoxie, Conway Springs, Norwich, Wichita or Argonia, Kansas.

Job Purpose: Performs administrative functions to ensure loan department runs in accordance with all areas of compliance and regulation while providing service to customers by performing the following duties. Works under general supervision of the Loan Services Officer.

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Process loans using ARTA; select appropriate templates and enter information to prepare documents for loan requests.
  • Book loans after loan closing; write tickets to general ledger accounts; deposit loan proceeds.
  • Upload loans to core system; manually coding all appropriate fields not completed with upload.
  • Verify accuracy and reliability of documents to be scanned.
  • Images loan documentation for electronic storage.
  • Provide quality control of scanned documents through the AccuSystems QC process.
  • Prepare Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) documents, new filings, and maintain the continuation of UCC documents.
  • Pull credit bureau reports.
  • Prepare and submit paperwork for the agricultural production loan deposit program.
  • Assist Officers to clear exceptions; input and update information for exception report; send letters; make telephone calls, and follow-up.
  • Pull maturing notes; mail paid copy to customers; release titles or other collateral.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers by accurately and courteously addressing customer questions and processing customer requests.
  • Follow regulatory requirements by protecting information for privacy and confidentiality; displaying discretion in discussing customer information; obtaining proper information and paperwork to complete transactions; following bank policies and regulations.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Six months to one year previous teller, secretarial or loan clerk experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute amounts such as discounts, interest, and percent. Ability to count money.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one and small group situations with management, co-workers, vendors and customers, including the ability to speak clearly, effectively, and professionally in positive or negative situations; listens to others without interrupting and gets clarification; and responds well to questions.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to reason complex transactions. Ability to perform repetitive mental and physical activities.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Windows based software, bank application software program, and e-mail; and ability to operate a computer, calculator, telephone, and typewriter/keyboard.
