Job Title: Quality Inspector Heavy Aircraft Maintenance

Job Description

The Quality Inspector supports heavy checks and modification work on B737 and A330 aircraft in a large maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) hangar and shop campus in Everett, WA. This role ensures that all maintenance actions and documentation are completed in accordance with approved data, regulatory requirements, and customer programs. The Quality Inspector performs preliminary, routine, in-process, and final inspections on aircraft and components to verify serviceability and airworthiness.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming preliminary inspections on aircraft and components in accordance with customer request cards and manufacturer manuals.
  • Verify that all maintenance documentation complies with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), the Repair Station Manual, and the customers Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP).
  • Conduct final buy-back inspections of maintenance performed to confirm completion and compliance with approved data.
  • Carry out in-progress inspections, including clearance-to-close checks, torque verifications, dimensional checks, rigging, and related tasks.
  • As authorized, perform return-to-service and airworthiness releases on serviceable tags, aircraft logbooks, and FAA Form 337.
  • Audit company facilities to ensure compliance with FARs and applicable safety regulations.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers to validate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve inspection findings and ensure timely correction of discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate, clear, and complete inspection records and reports.
  • Support continuous improvement of quality control and quality assurance processes within the maintenance environment.

Essential Skills

  • A&P License required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of aircraft heavy maintenance experience.
  • At least 1+ years of quality or quality-related experience (such as inspection or documentation).
  • Hands-on experience with aircraft maintenance on commercial platforms, ideally B737 and/or A330.
  • Proficiency in quality control and quality assurance practices within an aviation maintenance environment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply manufacturer manuals, customer request cards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers for quality inspection.
  • Strong understanding of FARs, Repair Station Manual requirements, and Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Programs (CAMP).
  • Ability to perform detailed inspections, document findings clearly, and execute return-to-service and airworthiness releases when authorized.
  • Solid attention to detail and commitment to maintaining airworthiness and safety standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience is highly desirable.
  • Previous quality control or quality assurance experience in an aviation environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with heavy check processes and modification work on transport-category aircraft.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced MRO hangar and shop setting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Capability to manage multiple inspections and priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Basic hand tools required; ability to properly use and care for calibrated tools provided.
  • Comfort with shift work and overtime in support of maintenance schedules.

Work Environment

Work takes place in heavy check hangars and shop areas, all indoors, within a large MRO campus in Everett, WA. The first week consists of orientation from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (sometimes completed by Thursday). After orientation, you will move to an assigned floor shift, which may be 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday. Typically, 10 to 20 hours of overtime are available. Basic tools are required, and calibrated tools are provided. The environment is structured, safety-focused, and centered around heavy aircraft maintenance and modification activities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
