Constellation Search Group is looking for an Controls Engineer for a full-time, on-site direct hire position. The Controls Engineer will provide electrical and controls engineering support within a manufacturing environment, focusing on equipment reliability, troubleshooting, automation, continuous improvement, and capital projects. This role will work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify solutions, improve processes, and support overall plant performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical and controls engineering support for manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshoot, modify, and program PLC and HMI systems.
  • Support electrical troubleshooting, equipment modifications, and automation improvements.
  • Specify and support electrical equipment, instrumentation, motors, drives, and related systems.
  • Partner with maintenance and operations teams to identify and resolve equipment and controls issues.
  • Provide electrical and controls engineering support for capital projects and facility improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams on process and equipment improvements.
  • Develop project scopes and coordinate with contractors as needed.
  • Create, update, and maintain electrical drawings and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, production efficiency, and overall plant performance.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and problem-solving within the manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering, controls engineering, automation, or a related manufacturing role preferred.
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, on-site manufacturing environment.
