Electrical Project Engineer – Wood Products

Salary $130,000–$170,000 + Bonuses + Stellar Benefits – REMOTE WITH 30% TRAVEL

Join a leading wood products organization as an Electrical Project Engineer and become the electrical subject matter expert for major capital projects across multiple manufacturing facilities. This is a high-impact, high-visibility opportunity where you will work with senior leadership and take projects from concept through startup.

Key Responsibilities as the Electrical Project Engineer:

  • Lead electrical projects from feasibility and detail design through procurement, construction, startup and post-startup optimization
  • Lead multi-million-dollar capital projects, including projects exceeding $4 million
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, contractors and consultants
  • Provide technical leadership for 480V power distribution, MCCs, motors, VFDs, starters, grounding and field I/O
  • Establish electrical architecture, standards and best practices for industrial projects
  • Direct designers, consultants and electrical contractors through project execution
  • Perform and support EasyPower arc flash and coordination studies
  • Travel approximately 30% to manufacturing facilities.

Minimum requirements for this Electrical Project Engineer position:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; M.S. preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive industrial capital project engineering experience
  • Proven experience leading multi-million-dollar projects from concept through completion
  • Strong experience with 480V electrical distribution, MCCs, VFDs and industrial power systems
  • Experience with EasyPower, arc flash and coordination studies
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E
  • Experience with MS Project, AutoCAD and advanced project management systems
  • Wood products or heavy industrial manufacturing experience preferred
  • PE license preferred
  • Allen-Bradley ControlLogix experience a plus.
