RF Calibration Technician
San Diego, CA | Full-Time | Monday–Friday | $40- 55/hour

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced RF Calibration Technician with strong RF knowledge and automation testing experience. This role will focus on the alignment, post-testing, troubleshooting, and repair of RF test and measurement equipment using automated calibration and testing programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform alignment and post-testing of RF signal generators, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Perform automated testing using MetCal, SureCal, N7800A, Python, and similar platforms.
  • Apply RF techniques and metrology practices to evaluate equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot RF and electronic equipment and identify performance issues.
  • Replace circuit boards, RF assemblies, subassemblies, and other components.
  • Perform post-repair testing and verify equipment performance.
  • Work with RF equipment from Keysight/Agilent/HP, Rohde & Schwarz, Tektronix, Anritsu, and similar manufacturers.
  • Review test results and perform troubleshooting or adjustments as needed.
  • Document testing, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  • Follow established metrology, quality, safety, and equipment-handling procedures.
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to resolve technical issues and meet turnaround requirements.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience with RF test and measurement equipment is required.
  • Experience with automated testing and calibration programs is required.
  • Military PMEL/TMDE/DOD training or Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 standards preferred.
  • Strong understanding of RF techniques, testing methodology, and metrology practices.
  • Experience with MetCal, SureCal, N7800A, Python, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot RF and electronic equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic components, circuit boards, and subassembly replacement.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
