Reports To: Director of Processing

Schedule: First Shift (Exempt)

Compensation: $140,000 - $150,000 Base Salary

Bonus: 30% Annual Bonus

Position Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance operations within a high-volume manufacturing and processing facility. This position oversees equipment reliability, preventive maintenance programs, department personnel, budgets, capital improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective plant operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in industrial maintenance, a hands-on approach to equipment reliability, and a proven ability to support production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Maintenance Leadership
  • Lead all maintenance activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
  • Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate maintenance personnel.
  • Manage department staffing, scheduling, overtime, and workforce planning.
  • Establish performance expectations and accountability standards for the maintenance team.
Equipment Reliability & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and maintain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Prioritize maintenance work orders, repairs, equipment installations, and improvement projects.
  • Analyze equipment downtime, failure trends, and maintenance costs to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement reliability-focused solutions that improve uptime, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, OSHA regulations, and established safety procedures.
  • Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Support facility compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead safety meetings, training initiatives, and incident prevention efforts.
Budget & Resource Management
  • Manage maintenance budgets, labor utilization, contractor services, and maintenance-related spending.
  • Oversee spare parts inventory, maintenance supplies, tools, and critical equipment components.
  • Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities, inspections, training, and equipment history.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Safety, and Plant Leadership to support production goals and facility performance.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Communicate maintenance priorities, equipment status, and project updates across departments.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, processing, or production environment.
  • Previous maintenance leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, and facility maintenance systems.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, CMMS/work order systems, and maintenance planning.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, LOTO procedures, and industrial safety practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical degree, apprenticeship, or formal maintenance training.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, consumer products, packaging, chemical, beverage, or other highly automated production environments.
  • Budget management and capital project experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Continuous Improvement experience.
Work Environment

This position works within a manufacturing and processing facility and may involve exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, varying temperatures, wet conditions, and industrial cleaning chemicals. The role requires regular walking, standing, climbing, bending, and occasional lifting. Flexibility to support off-hours maintenance needs, emergency repairs, and plant projects is expected.
