Echo Design and Integration (EDI) is a leading provider of tooling and equipment for the space and commercial aerospace industries. Based in Spokane, WA with a satellite office in Mukilteo, WA; we design and fabricate large, complex assemblies using carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

ROLE AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Associate Design Engineer will work closely with a team of experienced engineers to assist in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components. The primary responsibility will be to support the engineering team in creating innovative solutions, performing analyses, and contributing to the successful completion of projects.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop mechanical systems, equipment, and components, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes.

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, models, and specifications using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.

  • Participate in prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing activities, documenting and analyzing test results.

  • Plan, estimate, prioritize, and manage work activities to support meeting project schedules and budgets. Utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Generate and review product development documentation, including proposals, technical reports, procedures, correspondence, etc. necessary to satisfy customer and program requirements.

  • Self-directed and motivated while working and communicating effectively within a team environment that consists of several engineering, operations, quality, and business disciplines.

  • Perform design experiments and evaluate test results to validate analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, regulations, and safety standards.

  • Document and present project progress, analysis results, and design specifications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling techniques and drawing standards.

  • Practical experience using 3D CAD (SOLIDWORKS), CATIA and PDM systems.

  • Hardware delivery experience and sound technical knowledge of electro- mechanical design is preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with modern technologies

  • Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents, or otherwise authorized to access USML technical data.

Physical Requirements

  • You may be expected to travel to customers in your area and in different states.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be comfortable in a shop environment

Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, occasional fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise levels. Safety equipment is provided.
