Position Overview
Our client is an established engineering consulting firm seeking a Building Enclosure Project Manager to join its growing Denver-area team.
This position is ideal for a building enclosure professional with a strong technical foundation who enjoys managing projects, solving complex building performance challenges, and working collaboratively with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
The team works on commercial and multifamily residential buildings, with projects spanning both new construction and existing buildings. The role combines building enclosure consulting, commissioning, performance testing, field investigation, and project management, with an emphasis on energy efficiency, durability, and sustainable building performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and testing projects from planning through completion, including scope, schedule, budget, coordination, and deliverables
- Lead technical components of new construction and existing building enclosure projects with minimal oversight
- Perform and oversee field investigations, enclosure inspections, and performance testing
- Conduct air leakage testing, water penetration testing, infrared thermography, electronic leak detection, and other enclosure performance verification
- Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and enclosure details
- Evaluate enclosure performance through field observations, testing, condition assessments, and leak investigations
- Develop practical solutions to building enclosure and building performance challenges
- Contribute to Basis of Design documents, Owner’s Project Requirements, Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) plans, testing specifications, and commissioning documentation
- Participate in and lead design, construction, and commissioning meetings related to enclosure systems
- Manage construction-phase activities including submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, issue tracking, and corrective-work coordination
- Prepare clear technical reports and project documentation
- Communicate directly with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Proactively identify enclosure-related risks and anticipate project needs
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field; equivalent AEC industry experience may also be considered
- 4+ years of relevant experience in building enclosure design, construction, commissioning, consulting, or testing
- Strong understanding of building science principles, enclosure systems, construction practices, and common failure mechanisms
- Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and enclosure details
- Experience performing or overseeing building enclosure field observations and performance testing
- Familiarity with applicable building codes and industry standards, including IECC, IBC, ASTM, and AAMA
- Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for project-site travel
- Ability to travel throughout Colorado's Front Range, with occasional overnight travel of up to approximately 10%
- Ability to work from the Denver office approximately two days per week in addition to field responsibilities
- Ability to work on active construction sites, including climbing ladders or scaffolding, working outdoors, and transporting equipment up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx), including Fundamental or Enhanced Commissioning
- Experience with IECC thermal envelope performance verification and air leakage testing
- Existing building enclosure consulting experience, including condition assessments, investigative testing, and repair recommendations
- Familiarity with THERM, WUFI, or similar building enclosure analysis tools
- Proficiency with Bluebeam and common office/productivity software
- Professional credentials or certifications such as PE, EIT, RA, RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, BECxP, CxA+BE, or LEED AP

Compensation:
Base Salary: $87,000–$110,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications, plus annual bonus opportunity.
This is a full-time position based in the Denver, Colorado area and includes a combination of office, remote, and project-site work.
