Job Summary:
We'relooking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test with solid experience testing web-based UIs. This isa great opportunityto help define our end-to-end automation stack, joining a team of skilled software engineers developing across the full stack down to bare metal.We'retackling new and critical problems, building products ranging from energy weapons to AI-powered sensors and drone swarm defense. As we enhance, scale, and deploy our systems, we need SDETs who are eager to learn, contribute meaningfully, and grow their skills alongside a talented team.
Responsibilities:
- Building andmaintainingUI Test Automation infrastructure
- Developing andmaintaininga suite ofUI drivenend-to-end tests
- Ensuringexecution environmentsaremaintainedincluding simulation, HIL and on system
- Buildingout automated test run infrastructure and monitoringCI/CD
- LeveragingAItooling to improve our automated testing processincluding metrics and reports
- Documenting tests,organizingtestreviewsand communicatingtest coverage clearly to stakeholders
- Assistingwith our UIrelease pipeline and release documentation
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of5years of professional softwaredevelopmentin test, test automation, or software engineering experience
- Experience building andmaintainingend-to-end automated test suites for web-based applications
- Strong working knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
- Experience testing React applications and modern front-end architectures
- Experience with automated testing in CI/CDenvironments, including test execution, failure triage, and reporting
- Experience developing test plans, test cases, and coverage strategies aligned to product and engineering requirements
- Experience working with cross-functional teams tovalidatefeatures, triage issues, and improve product quality
- Strongwritten and verbal communication skills, including communicating test status, release risk, and quality outcomes to stakeholders
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience testing across simulated, hardware-in-the-loop, or production-representative environments
- Hands-on experience with Playwright UI automation and regression testing
- Experience building/maintainingtest infrastructureandtooling
- Familiarity with release validation, release documentation, and signoff processes
- Experience monitoring and improving CI health, including flaky test reduction and test stability improvements
- Experience with unit, integration, and API testing frameworks such asVitest, Jest, or similar tools
Additional Requirements:
- This is a hybrid role based in Torrance, CA, with an expectation of4days per week in the office to support team collaboration and cross-functional alignment.

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$171,000$194,000 USD
