Bristol is looking for a Shop Diesel Technician.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team across multiple locations. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial equipment. Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, air brake adjustments, wheel alignments, and shock & strut replacements to ensure vehicle safety and efficiency.
• Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed using welding equipment and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on yard truck, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and automotive systems with precision diagnostics tools.
• Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Assist in equipment assembly, installation, or upgrades to support operational needs across various job sites.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or fleet technician
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle systems
• Experience working on terminal tractors, yard trucks, or commercial vehicles is preferred
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems independently
• Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus
• ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications are preferred but not required
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a shop environment
