Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm

Job Description

Join our team as a Technician, where you'll be responsible for inspecting units for damage and performing necessary repairs using hand and power tools. You'll replace or repair hardware, doors, locks, flooring, and other components, ensuring units are clean and prepared for customer delivery. Your role will involve scrubbing walls, floors, and interior surfaces, touching up paint, and performing cosmetic repairs. You'll also move materials and equipment throughout the yard, assist with loading and unloading units, and operate forklifts and other equipment safely, if certified. A commitment to safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect units for damage and determine necessary repairs.
  • Perform basic repairs using hand and power tools.
  • Replace or repair hardware, doors, locks, flooring, and other components.
  • Clean and prepare units for customer delivery.
  • Scrub walls, floors, and interior surfaces as needed.
  • Touch up paint and perform cosmetic repairs.
  • Move materials and equipment throughout the yard.
  • Assist with loading and unloading units.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment safely, if certified.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in construction, carpentry, renovation, and mechanical repairs.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, refurbishment, and renovations.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Skills in painting, property maintenance, and facility maintenance.
  • Capability in forklift operations and cleaning & sanitation.
  • Competence in troubleshooting and repair work.
  • Preparedness for outdoor work and general labor.
  • Experience in inventory management and customer-ready preparation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Comfortable working outdoors approximately 85% of the time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the shift.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, construction, repairs, or refurbishing preferred.
  • Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
