EntryPoint Security installs and services access control, intercoms, security cameras and electronic door hardware for commercial and multifamily properties across NYC, Westchester and North New Jersey. We are building a network of independent low voltage contractors to take on installation and service jobs across our service area.
Rate: $32-$45/hr equivalent, quoted and paid per job on your invoice
Engagement: Independent contractor (1099), project by project
Availability: You choose which jobs to accept. No minimum hours.
Typical scope of work
• Install, service and troubleshoot access control, intercom, camera and low voltage wiring systems
• Card readers, controllers, electric strikes, mag locks, power supplies, REX devices and door contacts
• Pull, terminate, label and test cable; mount equipment cleanly
• Diagnose wiring, power, device and network faults
• Configure and commission systems and walk the customer through operation
• Provide completion documentation for each job: photos, parts used and test results
Requirements
• Proven field experience in low voltage security installation or service
• Your own tools, test equipment (including a multimeter) and reliable transportation
• Operating as your own business (sole prop, LLC or similar) with a W-9
• General liability insurance, and workers' comp or a valid exemption (certificate required before your first job)
• Able to read wiring diagrams; working knowledge of IP networking and PoE
• Able to perform physical field work, including ladder work
Experience with Akuvox, ButterflyMX, Comelit, infinias or similar systems is a plus, as is experience with electronic door hardware and door alignment.
