Automotive Mechanic – Busy Used Car Dealership
Location: Acworth, GA
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract
Pay: $400–$700 per week, based on experience
We are a busy used car dealership looking for an experienced and dependable Automotive Mechanic to join our team. This position focuses heavily on inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning vehicles before they are offered for sale.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Inspect newly purchased inventory and identify needed repairs
- Perform repairs and vehicle reconditioning
- Complete brake, suspension, and steering repairs
- Perform tune-ups and routine maintenance
- Replace belts, hoses, batteries, alternators, starters, sensors, and other components
- Perform oil changes and general maintenance
- Recommend necessary parts and repairs
- Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs
- Keep the shop and work area organized
- Communicate vehicle status and repair needs to management
- Complete repairs efficiently so vehicles can be prepared for sale
Qualifications:
- Professional automotive repair experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working on multiple makes and models
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Ability to prioritize multiple vehicles and repairs
- Valid driver’s license
- Own basic automotive tools
- Dealership, repair shop, or vehicle reconditioning experience preferred
- ASE certification is a plus but not required
