Job Description
Shape How Precision Parts Are Made

At CCT Enterprises, your day begins on the shop floor and at the engineer’s deskwhere ideas turn into reliable, repeatable CNC processes. As our CNC Process Development Engineer, you’ll take concepts from drawing review to stable production, programming CNC lathes, Swiss turning machines, and mills, and then refining every step for quality, speed, and cost.

A Day in the Role

You’ll start by reviewing customer prints, materials, and tolerances. From there, you’ll craft machining strategies, build tool lists, design workholding, and write CNC programs. You’ll move seamlessly to the machinessetting up, proving out code, and dialing in feeds, speeds, and toolpaths. Midday might bring a troubleshooting huddle with Production and Quality to resolve a dimensional challenge or tool-life concern. Later, you’ll finalize work instructions, train operators on a new setup, and collaborate with Sales on cycle-time estimates for a new quote. Throughout, you’ll look for opportunities to automate steps, leverage AI-assisted tools, and raise throughput without sacrificing precision.

  • Program and set up CNC lathes, Swiss turning, and/or milling centers; select and optimize tooling and workholding.
  • Troubleshoot existing jobs to identify root causes and correct quality or efficiency issues.
  • Continuously improve processes for consistency, cycle time, tool life, and yield.
  • Author clear work instructions and maintain process documentation.
  • Coach operators and setup personnel on new and revised methods.
  • Evaluate new part opportunitiesmanufacturability, processes, tooling, and cycle-time estimatesto support accurate quoting.
